Scholarship Universe

Scholarship Universe. Broward College is pleased to introduce Scholarship Universe, a new scholarship manager designed to help you find and manage scholarships with ease. When you first log in, you’ll be greeted with this welcome screen.

Click “I’m ready to answer a few questions and get matched with scholarships relevant to you”, based on your interests, GPA, graduating high school, residency, and more.

Once on your dashboard, some scholarships will already be listed. As you continue answering questions, your results will automatically refine and expand to show the best matches for you. If you would like to view in a different language, you can change the language directly in your browser’s translation settings.

To start the process, click the green banner at the top that says, “Qualify for more scholarships by clicking here.” From here, you will answer questions about yourself.

Answer as many or as few as you’d like. But keep in mind, the more questions you answer, the more scholarships you are likely to be matched to.

From time to time, Scholarship Universe will ask if you’d like to take a break.

Click “Let’s keep matching” to continue answering questions, or click View matched scholarships to browse your matches so far. You can also click the Scholarships tab on the left at any time.

On the Scholarships tab, you will see several categories.

The Matches tab shows scholarships you fully qualify for.

Partial matches are scholarships where you may still need to answer more questions to qualify. Keep an eye on partial matches. The dashboard will also prompt you directly when additional answers could unlock more scholarships for you.

You can also view scholarships you have pinned, those where your application has been submitted, non-matches, and any you marked as not interested.

If you click on a scholarship and select View, you can see all the details, including the open date, deadline, award amount, and eligibility criteria.

If you are interested, you can click Apply, pin it for later, mark it as not interested, or leave feedback if you notice any incorrect information.

When you click Apply, take a moment to review your information. Confirm your major and any other details the scholarship asks for, then click Continue.

From there, you can upload any supporting documents and answer any additional questions before submitting.

You will notice an icon to the left of the scholarship name. A school icon marks a Broward College Foundation Scholarship, while a globe icon indicates an external scholarship from a donor outside of Broward College. Some of these scholarships require you to apply through a third-party website.

You may also see some scholarships listed as open. This means they accept applications on a rolling basis, so there is no set deadline, and you can apply at any time.

When you click Apply on an external scholarship, a Leaving Website message will appear, letting you know the application is hosted on a third-party site. If you wish to proceed, click OK, and the application will open in a new tab. You may need to create a separate account on that site to apply.

Any applications you have started or saved will appear on the Applications tab.

The Ready to Start tab shows applications you are eligible for but have not yet begun. The In Progress tab shows applications you have started but not yet submitted. The Submitted tab shows all completed applications. Once your application has been submitted, you can check back here to track where it stands in the review process.

If you are awarded a scholarship, it will appear on the Awards tab. Outstanding awards are scholarships that have been approved but not yet credited to your financial aid account, either because the term has not started or the funds have not yet been received by the financial aid office. Once credited, they will move to the Awarded section.

My Docs is where you can store supporting documentation such as resumes, letters of recommendation, portfolios, or any other materials useful for your scholarship applications.

You can add, edit, or delete documents at any time using the Add button in the top right corner. All of this information is available in one convenient spot on your dashboard.

Once you’ve applied and verified all of your scholarship information, the dashboard gives you a complete snapshot of your scholarships in one place. Your universe, the funnel, tracks open and future matches, applied, under review, and awarded, showing the number of scholarships and dollar amount for each. The tiles on the left display a quick status of your partial matches, matches that you can currently apply to, and applications in progress, along with any information that must be followed up on. Each tile is clickable, taking you directly to the Scholarships tab to review the details.
