FAQs

Graduation FAQs

Q. How and when do I get my diploma?
A.
Your official diploma will be sent by mail 6 weeks after the official graduation date. However, a digital copy to download is sent via your Broward College email within 2 days following graduation. Verify your address in myBC and update if necessary. If your mailing address changes after the graduation date, please ensure you have mail-forwarding arranged through the U.S. Postal Service.

If you have not received your official diploma 8 weeks (2 months) after the official graduation date, check your myBC to confirm the correct address. If the address was correct, email diplomas@broward.edu. Include your name and contact information.

If you have completed a Continuing Education program:

If you have completed a Continuing Education program, your Certificate of Completion takes 10 to 15 days after course completion to process; at that time, you will receive your digital credential. Your Certificate of Completion will be sent to your Broward College email address. Please log into One Access with your BC username and password to view your email. If you have not received your Certificate of Completion, students may contact the Corporate and Continuing Education office by:

Q. Where can I find information about the graduation/commencement ceremony?
A.
Current graduation information, including ordering caps and gowns, can be viewed at www.broward.edu/graduation.

If you are eligible to graduate this semester, please make sure you visit the grad site for all details pertaining to the commencement ceremony.

If you have any questions related to your eligibility to participate in the ceremony, please schedule an appointment with your academic advisor.

Q. How can I request a copy of my diploma and is there a fee?
A.
To request a replacement or duplicate diploma, complete the Duplicate/Replacement Diploma Form via your myBC. You can also visit our forms website (www.broward.edu/studentforms) and click on the form under More Registrar tab; you will be routed to myBC.

For questions regarding diplomas, please email diplomas@broward.edu. Each duplicate or replacement diploma incurs a $10.00 fee. Please allow 2 weeks for processing.
For more information, visit www.broward.edu/registrar.

Q. How do I apply for graduation and is there a deadline?
A.
You do not need to apply for graduation in order to graduate. If you did not apply for graduation, the only negative impact is that your name will not appear in the Graduation Commencement Book that is distributed at the graduation ceremony.

You can submit an application in your myBC under Graduation Application. This is to verify the spelling of your name for your diploma and so that it can appear in the Graduation Commencement book. However, when your degree audit shows you are 100% complete, and you do not have any holds, a graduation application will be completed for you automatically.

(Holds prevent our system from automatically graduating students.)

As long as you have completed all the requirements to graduate, you will still receive your diploma in the mail, which will be automatically sent out by mail 6 weeks after the official graduation date. However, a digital copy to download is sent via your Broward College email within 2 days following graduation. Verify your address in myBC and update if necessary. If your mailing address changes after the graduation date, please ensure you have mail-forwarding arranged through the U.S. Postal Service.

*It is recommended that students speak with their academic advisor to confirm if they are ready for graduation.
