Q. How and When Will I Know if I’ve Been Admitted?
A. You’ll receive an acceptance email from the Admissions Office within 24 business hours after submitting your application if eligible.Students are issued with a unique student ID number and username/password upon successful completion of an admissions application. This username/password will be used to access myBC and other BC resources. Admission status can be checked via your myBC account  by clicking on ‘View Registration’ to review the information. Admission may be granted before all transcripts are received, but they must be submitted by the end of the first term to register for future classes.


Q. What If I Am Denied Admission?
A. Contact the Admissions Department for further assistance.

Q. How Can I Become a Dually Enrolled Student?
A. The Dual Enrollment Program allows eligible students to earn high school and college credits simultaneously. Students can register for up to 11 credits per term and are exempt from fees. For Early Admission, high school seniors can enroll (at least 12 credit hours), but must maintain a 2.0 GPA. College Academy students can earn both a high school diploma and an A.A. degree. Q. Where Do I Send Admissions Documents?
A. Unofficial transcripts are accepted for the first term but official copies must be received by the end of the first semester. Mail official transcripts to the Registrar’s Office or submit electronically through approved systems like Escript, Parchment, or FASTER.

Q. How Can I Take Non-Credit or Non-Degree Courses?
A. Non-degree seeking students can take up to 12 credits at Broward College. Apply using the Non-Credit Application online. Official transcripts are not required for non-degree students, but certain holds may need to be cleared by Admissions or Advising. For more info:  https://www.broward.edu/admissions/apply.html


Q. How Can I Check My Limited Access Application Status?
A. Log into myBC, click “Limited Access Application Status,” and review the status or missing documents. Admission decisions are sent within 30 business days of the application period closing. Candidates selected or not selected for admissions will be notified through their BC email account. If you have additional questions, you may send an email to healthscience@broward.edu.


Q. Can I Start Classes Earlier Than My Applied Semester?
A. Contact an Admissions representative to request a change to an earlier start date.


Q. How Do I Apply as a Transient Student?
A. Florida public university students should complete a transient student application through Florida Shines. For out-of-state or private university students, submit a transient form from your home institution and follow Broward’s regular admissions process.

  • The student will get an email once everything is approved so that they can begin registering for classes. Should have additional questions, please contact Florida Shines. https://www.floridashines.org/
  • Email your transient letter from your home institution to the email inbox for the respective campus you are attending i.e. Central, North, South etc. Please allow 72 hours for processing. Contact information for each campus can be found at https://www.broward.edu/admissions/transient-students.html.
  • Once the student has permission, they should proceed by applying to Broward College by using the online application and following the regular admissions process. The New Student application can be found at www.broward.edu/admissions/.

Q. What If My SSN Is Already on File?
If your SSN is on file, you may have previously registered as a transient, taken a non-degree seeking course, dual-enrollment while in high school, or changed your name. You will need to begin a new application or manage an existing one using the application portal but following the steps at: https://www.broward.edu/admissions/apply.html.


Q. How Can I Become a Credit-Seeking Student?
You already have an account if you applied after January 31, 2023. Do not create a new one.
The $35 application fee applies to all new credit-seeking students.


Q. Who is my District Success Coach?
Students are assigned a District Coach based on their last name. Contact them via email for assistance.


Q. What Is a Student Success Coach?
Success Coaches guide new degree-seeking students through application, course registration, FAFSA, and more.
Success Coaches assist with:
•Career and academic program exploration.
•Resolving admissions holds that may prohibit enrollment.
•Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) and scholarship application assistance
•Tuition payment options
•Transcript review
•Creation of the student’s academic plan
•Help with course registration through BC Navigate


Q. How Do I Pay My Application Fee?
Pay the $35 fee ($75 for international applicants) through myBC after completing orientation and registration. Payments can be made online, by mail, or at the campus Cashier’s Office.

To pay balance in myBC:
•Login to myBC
•Look under ‘my Financial Summary‘ for the ‘Pay Now’ button (right hand side of the screen).
•After clicking ‘Pay Now’, select the option that best fits you for paying your balance.


Q. Emergency Executive Order for Out-of-State Jewish Students
Jewish students who transfer to Broward College due to antisemitic discrimination can apply for out-of-state fee waivers. Complete the transfer application and submit supporting documentation for review. Jewish Students Emergency Executive Order Training Aid – Student Process:

Q. What Is the HESI A2 Test?
The HESI A2 exam is required for Nursing and Dental Assisting program admissions. Tests are available at Central and North campuses, and results are given within 10 minutes of completion.
